Frustrated with making pants? The back of the pant seems to be the major issue in fit. Wrinkles under the buttocks and diagonal wrinkles from the side hip down to the knee indicate a problem with the cut/shape of the pant back. Accurate pant fitting involves straightforward measurements, of course, but also an understanding of how different curves and bone/flesh structures affect pants fit. Part art, part science, pant fit discussion in class includes a new solution that has helped tremendously in achieving a better fit for both the front and back of pants, including adjustments for a larger abdomen, bigger ‘booty’ or flat butt.
