Beautiful pillowcases are a traditional and welcome gift for anyone starting a new home. It's something that everyone can use and one size fits all.  Or-  maybe it’s time to make a pretty treat for yourself. In this class, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful set of pillowcases, using heirloom techniques that can be accomplished on any sewing machine. Don’t be surprised if you need to point out that they are home made. Bring your own fabric; see Supply List for details.

  • Advance Prep: Machine set up with Universal needle size 80/12 inserted and bobbin wound with sewing thread. Machine set for straight stitch.

    Sewing machine, double bent trimmers (blunt tips if possible), (2) spools white cotton sewing thread (for pin tucks), (1) spool ecru cotton sewing thread, pins, rotary cutter and mat, Universal needle size 80/12, Universal Twin needle size 2.0/80, Topstitch needle size 90/14.

     

    Sewing Machine Feet: Double Welt Cord Foot, Open Toe Foot, Standard Presser Foot


    Fabric Requirements:

    1-1/2 yards cotton fabric (main fabric); 2/3 yard border fabric; 2-1/4 yards 1-inch wide lace insertion; 1/8 yard lace fabric (for applique).
