Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details

  • Supply List:
    • Scissors
    • Straight pins
    • Fabric marker that will show up on chosen fabric
    • Lead pencil with eraser
    • Tape measure
    • Any sewing tool you cannot sew without.
    • Label all sewing tools with your name.

     

    Fabric requirements:

    • 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 yards of drapey WOVEN fabric. Yardage is determined by length desired and size.
      Note: Fabric should be easy to tear both lengthwise and widthwise. This will save cutting time so that you may finish your kimono in class. Jill recommends using a batik rayon from Sew Batik. They have gorgeous fabric and a great website.

    • 3 large spools of thread to match your fabric.
    • Polyester thread in black, white, gray, and ecru will be available for student use.

    • You will wear your Kimono home!
