Created entirely on your serger, this little bag is chock-full of serger techniques that you will love to learn. First, Alicia will show you how to insert a zipper by serger, one of the quickest and cleanest ways to insert a zipper. You will also learn how to create your own piping, which gives the bag such a high-end boutique feel. The bow on the bag is reversible, so you can flip it to the other side to give your bag a whole new look! As you construct your bag, you will also learn a neat trick for boxing your corners to make it look nice and tailored. - 3/8-yard each of two non-directional quilters cotton fabrics labeled Fabric A and B.
- 1/3-yard Shape-Flex interfacing 20-inches wide or simular.
- 3/4-yard pre-made piping
- 1 18-inch all-purpose plastic coil zipper. No metal teeth.
- 6-inches of 1/8-inch ribbon for zipper pull optional.
- Rotary cutter with new blade and 6x18-inch rotary ruler.
- Scissors.
- Wonder clips.
- Double-eyed needle or tapestry needle for finishing thread tails optional.
- Any sewing notion you cannot sew without.
- Note: Rotary cutting mats will be available in the classroom. Be sure to label all sewing tools with your name.
