String Piecing may look complex but is very easy to accomplish using Ilene’s method which utilizes a variety of colored strips that are first sewn onto a stabilizer background and then trimmed. Explore a variety of color choices and placement of lights and darks, which are a vital part of success to achieve the desired result. You will also learn how to use piping to create a clean, finished edge and how to finish the quilt using a facing.

There are four different kit options for this class. Once enrolled, please email info@sewingexpo.com with which kit you would like to work on in class. Your kit will be available at the Expo, and you will pay the kit fee directly to the instructor upon arrival. She accepts cash, check or credit card. See Supply List below for kit pricing and links to view options.

Students should finish the project if they chose the Connected pattern because it is the smallest approximately 12-inch x 15-inch. If choosing larger patterns, you will learn the techniques to get you started in class and will be able to use the skills you learned to finish your quilt at home.
