Explore the art of basic seaming on various knit types, unravel the mysteries of stabilizers and topstitching, and discover a plethora of hemming options, including cover stitch basics on a diverse range of knit fabrics. Discover the simplicity of creating elastic waistbands for pull-on pants and unveil the secrets of achieving a professional cover stitch finish.

 

This is a journey of serging mastery! Complete multiple samples and apply your newfound skills with confidence on future knit projects. Get ready to stitch, serge, and sparkle in the world of knits!

  • Experience Level:
    • Confident beginner and above
  • Prerequisite:
    • Basic serging skills helpful
  • Supply List:
    • Rotary cutter with new blade, and rotary ruler.
    • Scissors and tweezers.
    • Pins or Wonder clips not jumbo.
    • Seam ripper, marking tools and tape measure.
    • 4 to 8 safety pins size 1.5-inch.
    • Fabric glue pen (optional).
    • 4 different color serger threads in bright colors.
    • Any sewing notion you cannot sew without.
    • Note: Rotary cutting mats will be available in the classroom
    • Label all sewing tools with your name and email or phone number
  • Completion Level:
    • 3 to 4 samples of various techniques
