A bridal gown is a beautiful, flowing garment that often includes a long, elegant train. While the train is stunning during the ceremony, it can be cumbersome during the reception. Bustling a bridal gown allows the train to be lifted off the ground, making it easier for the bride to move around and dance comfortably. Here, we'll guide you through the process of bustling a bridal gown.
In this class we will discuss and learn the different types of bustles. The American (Overbustle) is the one we will learn to create in this class.
Ideally, students need to bring a gown with a train to bustle. I will provide additional gowns to borrow but they will remain with me after class. They cannot be taken home.
Appearance: The train is lifted over the outside of the dress and attached to the back, creating a waterfall effect.
Features: This bustle usually involves several hooks or buttons placed along the waistline or below.
