• Coming to class with your 5 ½” foundation squares cut (80 are needed for the sample size quilt) and at least some 1 ½” x 6 ¾” scraps (Do NOT cut all of them) this means you can jump right into the construction of the blocks.
• **You can cut scraps into strips that measure 1 ½” x whatever length, as long as they are 6 ¾” and bring those to class. Doing this will allow you to have a little more freedom when choosing which strips to use during the block construction.**

• Basic Sewing Supplies: Pins, Scissors, Seam Ripper, etc
• Mechanical Pencil-thin line (.5 size lead)
• Rotary Cutter with a sharp blade
• Small mat (doesn't need to be longer than 12")
• Small Square Ruler (at least  5 ½” or 6” square for trimming)
• Large Ruler (at least 12" long for cutting yardage)

Fabric Requirements (based on 40” wide usable fabric)
Quilt Size (48” x 58”) (Sample Size)

• Foundation Fabric – a consistent fabric used to create the stars – 2 yards
• Prints – a variety of scraps that measure at least 1 ½” x at least 6 ¾” - approx. 3 ½ yards total **SEE NOTE BELOW**
• Border 1 (1” finished) – ⅓ yard
• Border 2 (3” finished) – 1 yard
• Binding – ½ yard OR 225” of scrappy binding
• Backing – 3 yards
