First, a mini fashion show for inspiration. Next, a basic straight skirt with a simple vent and elastic waistband is the perfect blank canvas upon which to determine basic ease, construction, and the most flattering skirt lengths for you. The basic skirt then evolves in steps to encompass more than two dozen fashionable variations. Modifications include creating a variety of skirt silhouettes from dirndls, A-lines, gores, and shaped gores to tiers, inserts, and ruffles. There are overlays, wraps, faux wraps, tailored front/elastic back waistbands, yoked waistbands, inseam or patch pockets, shaped hems, raw edge seams, and exposed serged seams. Well, the list does go on. Come with questions, we'll work out the answers. Instructional handout included.
