Accurate measurements and how to take them, a realistic assessment of your figure, and determination of your style are necessary, especially with fitting being the number one frustration in garment sewing. This frustration can be alleviated by choosing the correct pattern and size and reflecting on how to measure. There is much to be learned from the pattern envelope. Two or three patterns may look the same in the illustrations but vary widely in construction.
Knowing how to read the pattern envelope will guide you in deciding which pattern is best for you, your body type, and your skill level. Fitting ease and design ease are both instrumental in choosing fabrics. All these issues will be discussed in detail. Questions are welcome.
