Crocheters! Would you like to up your crochet game beyond plain rectangles? In this class, we will explore the unlimited potential of the classic crochet Granny Square using crochet charts. A Granny Square is an iconic and beloved crochet technique that is so easy, every crocheter should try it at least once. Crochet charts can be used to map out the simplest single crochet grid or complicated intricate lace work. This is a skill that can develop a confident beginner to an intermediate crocheter.
Students will learn general crochet chart symbols and chart interpretation for crochet in both grid format and in the round. In the hands-on portion of the class, students will learn how to start a Granny Square using two possible techniques. A crochet chart of a Granny Square will be used, and you will leave with your very own completed Granny Square! Developing new crochet techniques and skills can be intimidating. Learning to read crochet charts makes expanding your skills easy and fun.
This is not a beginner crochet class. Students must have basic knowledge of crochet. Chaining, double crochet, and joining with slip stitches are used for Granny Squares specifically.
