Know how to sew an accurate 1/4-inch seam allowance

From Main Fabric cut 2 strips 7 1/2-inches x wof (width of fabric). Cut one strip into four 7 1/2 x 7 1/2-inch squares and two 7 1/2 x 4-inch pieces. Cut the second strip cut into ten 7 1/2 x 4-inch pieces.

Bring all your fabrics for this project to class.

Stiletto, thread to match fabrics, skewer, small sharp scissors, fine patchwork pins, paper and pencil, Roxanne's Glue Baste or Elmer's Glue, rotary cutter with new blade, 6 x 24-inch rotary ruler, any basic sewing supplies you cannot sew without. Note: Rotary cutting mats will be available in the classroom.

Fabric requirements:

• Colored backgrounds - Twenty 4-inch squares. They can be all same fabrics or two or more fabrics.
• Main Fabric for centers - 1/2 yard
• Accent Border - 1/4-yard
• Outer Border - 1/3-yard
• Binding - 1/4-yard
• Backing and Batting - 17 x 45-inches
