Sometimes background fillers are the best answer, since they can elevate a quilt, giving it that little extra. Explore how to select, draw and stitch many background fillers, some based on a grid and others which are more appropriate for the modern quilt style. Cut the muslin (or solid light-colored fabric) into (16) 10 x 11-inch squares. Make 8 quilt sandwiches. There is no need to pin baste.
Small sharp scissors or snips; paper (newsprint is great); ball point pen (two colors); pencil; at least two sheet protectors; dry erase fine markers; small scrap of cottong batting to erase dry erase marker marks; quilter's glove; reading/sewing glasses and anything that will make your sewing more enjoyable. Fabric requirements:
Cotton batting - enough to make (8) 11 x 10-inch quilt sandwiches.
Several samples will be drawn and stitched.
