Sew News Project Swap

Share your love of sewing with others when you use your favorite fabrics and make a small item at home to swap at the Expo. You can choose one of the FREE patterns from SewDaily or something similar – whatever you’d like to receive in a swap is perfect. Just wrap your project in a plain brown paper bag, without embellishment but including a tag with your name and state (include an email address if you’d like a new pen pal). Bring your swap item to the Sew News / BurdaStyle booth at 11:30am Thursday, Friday or Saturday for swap instructions and reveal. Click for details...
Sewing Mad Libs Relay with Sew News

Up for some fun? Join us as a mystery project is created in the Sew News - BurdaStyle booth. You’ll have a chance to put your imagination to work as you watch the project unfold, or become a participant yourself – part of the ‘create team’ at the heart of the action. Throughout the day, a Mad Lib paragraph will be filled in with words provided by the audience (maybe you!), taking the project in different directions until completion. Ellen is the Community Content Director for the sewing division of F+W Media, including the Sew News, Creative Machine Embroidery, BurdaStyle, SewDaily and Sew it All brands. She’s appeared on several television shows spreading her love of sewing, most notably Hallmark’s Marie Osmond Show and DIY Network’s Uncommon Threads, and she hosted Sew it All on PBS for nine seasons.

Meg has been sewing for over 15 years and studied Fashion Design in London, Canada and New York City. She is currently the face of BurdaStyle.com, where she develops and instructs online sewing education courses, manages the digital sewing pattern content, and overall inspires the sewing community through her sewing projects and tutorials.
