Have you ever wanted to make a cathedral window quilt but were intimidated by the old envelope method? If so, you will love Belle’s easy modern method used in her Riverglen Quilt pattern to make this beautiful block, which can be turned into a pillow, table runner, wall-hanging, or quilt!   • Prerequisite:

    Need basic quilting and piecing skills.

  • Advance Prep:
    • Color A - cut into 5  4.5-inch squares.
    • Color B - cut into 16  4-inch squares.
    • Color C - cut into 32 4-inch squares, 2 strips 3.5-inch x 14.5-inch and 2 strips 3.5-inches x 20.5-inches for borders 
    • Press all Color C squares in half on the diagonal prior to class
  • Supply List:

    Roxanne Glue-Baste-It or your favorite glue baste, mini clips, pins, stiletto, alphabet labels A, B, C or a few post-it notes to label fabric. 28mm rotary cutter with new blade, 6 x 12-inch rotary ruler, clapper (optional), any sewing supplies you cannot sew without. Note: Rotary cutting mats will be available in the classroom. Label all sewing tools with your name.

     

    Fabric requirements:

    Color A - 1 fat quarter, non-directional print

    Color B - 1 fat quarter, non-directional print

    Color C - 1-yard low volume color, non-directional print

    24 x 24-inch piece of batting

    24 x 24-inch backing fabric. Will be used for the inside of the pillow and is not visible. If turning your block into a wall quilt, then you may be more particular about fabric print.

    The thread provided in the classroom is black, white, gray, ecru.

  • Completion Level:

    Finished pillow top.
