Discover the art of pattern making with expert designer to the stars, Joe Vecchiarelli. For Day 2 of the Drape Like a Fashion Designer, Joe will guide you through each step as you take the muslin drape from the body form and transfer it to paper. Learn the technical terms and annotations for marking each piece on dressmaking paper to create your own gorgeous custom pattern.

Once you have completed the pattern, you’ll be ready to cut out your design from fabric! Following Joe’s direction, you will learn how to place the pattern pieces with the grain of the fabric and determine the best use of the yardage, so no fabric is wasted. Depending on the intricacies of the design, some students may begin sewing the basic pieces. Sewing machines will be provided in the classroom.

Students are encouraged to bring their body double to class and may purchase one in advance from https://www.frencheuropeaninc.com/store.
