This Dolman sleeve jacket is “Magic” because it works on all figure types and makes up in fabrics from Knits to Linen or Rayon. Easy to sew, and great for wearable art applications. This will be your go-to jacket for that quick to make easy to wear wardrobe essential. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.

  • Advance Prep:

    Cut interfacing into 2-inch strips.

  • Supply List:
    Student Supply List: Basic Sewing Supplies, rotary cutter with new blade, 6x24-inch ruler, anything you cannot sew without.  Note: Rotary cutting mats will be available in the classroom.
     
    Fabric requirements:
    In a serger studio:

    3 yards of woven or knit fabric that has drape. Think rayon challis, ITY knits, charmeuse, fine cottons. Thread to match (black, white, gray and ecru cone thread will be available for classroom use). If you can find a cone that is good, if not, a regular spool will work. Fusible knit interfacing, 1/2-yard is good.

    In a sewing studio:

    3 yards of woven or knit fabric that has drape. Think rayon challis, ITY knits, charmeuse, fine cottons. Thread to match (black, white, gray and ecru thread will be available for classroom use). Fusible knit interfacing, 1/2-yard is good.

  • Completion Level:

    Everything but hems and topstitching.
