A Bull in a China Shop, or The Unexpected Journey of an Out of Control
Abomination Climbing His Way Up the Quilting Ladder

Mark Lipinski
From Mark: I think that Julia Roberts said it best when she said, “I’m just a boy, who loves to quilt, from a trailer park.” Well, maybe it was, Hilary Swank, and anyway, I never lived in a trailer park. But I digress. How does a man become a quilter, teacher, designer and lecturer and what has he learned in the process? How does working in the quilting arena differ from working in big business and what words of wisdom do I have for you? If you’ve ever wondered why a successful television producer would give up a hefty six-figure salary for poverty wages to quilt, then this is for you!

Travel with Mark from his boyhood Pittsburgh home, to San Francisco, Miami, New York, Chicago and New Jersey and learn how each of these places led him to becoming the quilt master he is today! From his first quilts to his last, see first-hand how a quilting duckling is trying to make you think he’s transforming himself into a quilting swan (if for no other reason than to feel better about your own quilting projects). Take a look at a small trunk show of his quilts and his multiple UFOs and find out why he lost interest. Hear what inspires him and allow his life experience and outlook on the creative process to inspire you.

Baby, Oh Baby!
Linda Winner of Martelli Enterprises
Got a baby in your life or one on the way? Of course you want to make some cute little gifts but you're short on time. Come see some quick and easy projects that every baby needs and every new mom will appreciate! Behind the Scenes at Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting
Jean Nolte, Editor, Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting
Get a glimpse of how things really happen at Love of Quilting. Learn what it takes to create Love of Quilting magazine and the "Love of Quilting" television series on PBS. There will also be a trunk show of quilts from past, present, and future issues of the much-loved Fons & Porter magazines.

Do It In The Hoop!
Cindy Losekamp of Sew Artfully Yours

Dye It, Paint It, Sun Print It and More!
Cindy Losekamp of Sew Artfully Yours

It's Only a Potholder! Surface Design for the Faint of Heart
Amber Eden/Rose DeBoer of Quilting Arts/Modern Patchwork
Want to try some surface design techniques, but aren't sure where to start—or what to do with the fabric once you've created it? Learn to print, stamp, screen print, and paint your fabric with artistic abandon. Start small while you experiment (think potholders!) and you may soon find yourself with some big ideas.

While staying within the color scheme of the quilt top, Lori improvises and makes some creative decisions when creating the back of the quilt. Share the fun as Lori guides you through her process and shows you one of her current innovative quilt backs in progress.

She’ll offer suggestions on how to reduce your own stash of “works in progress”. Lori shares why each project went unfinished and confesses the truth about whether she will actually finish them, following her own rule of one hour of sewing each evening. She’ll tell the truth about why some will never be finished – and that’s OK!
