Lemoyne Stars are traditional blocks with a reputation for being impossible to make well. And in the past, they were. But with Studio 180’s Rapid Fire tool and techniques, these blocks can now be produced in 10 different sizes ranging from 3” to 12”, using strip piecing construction with no "Y" stitching required. Exciting, isn’t it? The class is designed for those with firm grasp of rotary cutting and machine piecing, as it is a techniques class – focusing on how to make the stars rather than on a particular project. We will focus on making 6” blocks during our class time. Fabrics will be provided for you, so we can get straight into constructing the blocks. You’ll have a chance to see lots of other Lemoyne Star projects, too!

This workshop is designed to introduce students to patented tools and techniques which help all students increase their piecing success rate. The focus in the introductory class will be on the use of one particular tool during the session. Students will learn how to recognize the shape, how to use the tool to trim the units, how to adapt the processes to any pattern, and what the benefits are for purposely oversizing and then trimming down. Hands on practice creating a few shapes/blocks during the workshop will enable everyone to use their new tool with confidence in many future quilting projects.
