This is the workshop you’ll remember for a lifetime of quiltmaking: actually draft (on graph paper) one or more quilt blocks, then learn to measure and cut your fabric so it’s ready to piece. The key is the in-depth analysis of blocks – using examples from patterns, pictures and books to further your understanding of the drafting and refining process that goes on before you ever begin to cut. Discuss fabric characteristics, including grainline and its role in the block. Experience the tools, cutting practices and more, as you truly ‘start from scratch’. The content of this workshop will broaden your confidence and your design options for the rest of your quilting life.
