Monday 4:00pm – Wednesday 4:45pm It’s amazing! A little girl’s dress and leggings -- totally on-trend, extra-fun to wear and a really great way to discover how to make use of sewing machine accessory feet and a serger, too, so all your special touches are easy to make. You’ll get hands on practice with all the easiest ways to create Connie’s wonderful details, which turn ordinary into extraordinary, and see just how to add them to other patterns. Even the simplest designs can, with the addition of these touches, make every one of your little girl’s dresses extra-special.
Connie started her dress using a pattern she designed herself (Marjorie, by That’s Sew Connie) and then, well…. she did fanciful things to it, turning an already cute dress into an outstanding, special little girl’s fantasy. If you enjoy working with fine quilting cottons and the fun of combining variety of prints in an artful way, this is a chance to do so, and learn new techniques at the same time.
Working with vibrant, whimsical prints from FreeSpirit, Connie turned one small lower hemline ruffle into tiered, multi-layered “fluff” at the lower back, each tier carrying contrast ric-rac. The front bodice features a double ruched overlay, created using two different fabrics and … two different sizes of ric rac. One of those prints is also found at the waistline, armhole and neck edges in perfect piping, emphasizing the lines of the dress and creating a high-end finish and look.
Finish your little girl’s outfit with leggings (with ankle ruffles, of course), for a complete outfit – easy to wear, easy to play in, and really, really fun to make. You’ll enjoy the serger experience, the chance to push your own sewing skills with specialty machine feet and more, when you join Connie to make this outfit.
Oh, by the way, did we mention her classes are always having the most fun?
