Adult coloring books are the rage now, and this class will show you how you can combine your love of machine embroidery and color with ink to create beautiful one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Inspired by the beautiful Grand Flower quilt that many people notice when it is on display in the Sulky booth, the class comes together in three segments. Embroider an outline of a flower design from the Grand Flowers collection in the hoop; see Michelle demonstrate how to bring the flower to life with different coloring methods, including Derwent Intense Pencils, Tsukineko Inks, and Fabrico ink markers, which you will use for your flower in class. Finally, finish your embroidered and inked flower by adding some free-motion quilting in the background using 30 wt. Sulky Cotton Blendables thread. Includes tips for embroidering with 30 wt. Sulky Cotton thread, stabilizing quilter’s cotton fabric, prepping the fabric for inking and an exploration of different inking methods.
