The Studio 180 Design Corner Pop tool is the tool Connie literally begged Deb Tucker for years to make! We use it now to make those dreaded “folded corner”, “snowball” or “stitch & flip corner” units without the usual unsettling results. You know, the ones that someone tells you to leave the base fabric intact because your folded corner fabric doesn’t go all the way to the edge of the block causing extra layers of fabric to quilt through; the ones that don’t match up when you stitch your blocks together. And let’s not forget all those stitching lines you have to draw….! Well, thanks to the Corner Pop tool, those are things of the past! With this new method, there are no sewing lines to draw, you’ll have much less wasted fabric and your blocks will be much more accurate because you get to do a final trim down. That’s a WIN-WIN!

Make 4 spool blocks while learning how to use this amazing tool. They can be incorporated into a small wall hanging, become potholders, a quilt focal point block or Connie's favorite -- a clock! All of these options will be discussed and the choice is yours. Learn to adapt this process to any pattern that uses the “folded corner” technique as you see many samples in class using the technique. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.

This workshop is designed to introduce students to patented tools and techniques which help all students increase their piecing success rate. The focus in the introductory class will be on the use of one particular tool during the session. Students will learn how to recognize the shape, how to use the tool to trim the units, how to adapt the processes to any pattern, and what the benefits are for purposely oversizing and then trimming down. Hands on practice creating a few shapes/blocks during the workshop will enable everyone to use their new tool with confidence in many future quilting projects.
