Monday 4:00pm – Wednesday 5:30pm Every little girl needs a special coat, especially when her 18” doll has one, too! And what would be better than one in luxurious red corduroy? Join Connie Palmer, queen of children’s garment construction, as she takes you through the coat’s creation, step-by-step, sharing every helpful technique and tip in her sewing toolbox. The adorable A-line swing coat is fully lined and full of special details, with plenty of opportunity for you to add some tricks to your own sewing practice.

Because special touches are what turn an ordinary garment into something truly special, Connie designed this coat to feature a wonderful, coordinating collection of construction and embellishment details. Along with detailed machine embroidery and a red gingham lining, the coat has a special twist – the front and back bodices have an overlay edged with a charming black ribbon ruffle. The cuffs and collar are piped in black, incorporating a touch of sophistication and classic elegance, and you’ll learn how to execute each part of the coat perfectly during the retreat.

Buttoned up with sweetness in classic Connie style, your little one will be admired everywhere she goes.

All materials, ribbons, trims, threads, patterns and embroidery designs needed to make both coats (the coat in sizes 3, 4, 5 or 6, plus the matching coat for the 18” doll) are included with your retreat fee.

Work on a Husqvarna Viking EPIC as you stitch alongside Connie, whose tricks for stitching little garments – with all kinds of high-end details – make sewing for kids and dolls easy, rewarding ….. and fun!

Tuesday: Classroom in Session 9am-5pm; Optional Open Sew 6-8pm
Wednesday: Classroom in Session 9am-4:30pm; "Graduation" 4:45-5:30pm
(Note: Only Monday time is listed on ticket, but your registration is valid for the entire event.)
Supply List: Paper scissors, fabric scissors (large), small scissors or snips, glass head pins, pencil, blue water soluble pen, transparent tape for pattern work, glue pen, Quick Pleater (small set), hem gauge and seam ripper.
