Monday 4:00pm – Wednesday 5:30pm   Sulky Embroidery Zen II is the perfect environment for everyone with machine embroidery experience, ready to stretch their skills in a highly focused, fun and rewarding retreat atmosphere. Experience the joy of embroidery with renowned educator Ellen Osten as you enhance your embroidery knowledge. You’ll complete a collection of specially curated projects, each of which has been designed to highlight different embroidery techniques and help you broaden your embroidery knowledge. Explore and become confident about “to hoop or not to hoop”, placement of designs and making decisions about what, when and why to use different types of threads and stabilizers – both backings and toppers.

In just two and a half days, you will:
  • Create different effects with different weights and types of thread;
  • Perfect your applique embroidery;
  • Learn to position as you combine designs;
  • Perfect even the smallest lettering and monograms;
  • Create, then stitch 3-D embroidery designs;
  • Learn how to make machine stitched templates for perfect placement;
  • Gather a collection of tips and techniques for stitching with challenging fabrics;
  • Discover how to tame clumsy ‘unhoopables’;
  • Learn to choose the best stabilizer for the fabric and the project;
  • Expore Redwork/Blackwork/Bluework….and “sew” much more.

Take home all your finished projects, including a Market Tote, Butterfly Jewelry Round, Folding Flower Tote, Scissors Holder, Applique Pocket, Personalized Gift Towels, 3-D Applique and Lacey Pocket. Your complete Sulky Embroidery Zen II binder is filled with project instructions, tips and techniques for threads, stabilizers, 3-D foam embroidery and more, plus all the reference materials you will need for successful embroidery. You will also receive all the designs used to complete your projects plus bonus designs for more creative embroidery after class. It’s a very real “embroidery tool box” filled with a range of new techniques which support the amazing new level of confidence you’ve developed in your machine embroidery skills.
