Discussion will focus on an exploration of the four basic, natural fiber fabrics: cottons, wools, linens and silks; touch on manufactured fabrics such as polyesters, nylons, and spandex; and include commentary about ‘smart’ fibers and cotton blends. Armed with swatch cards for future reference, you will learn about the norms and processes used when making fabric choices in the fashion world. As Joe shares his extensive knowledge of textiles and how to think about them when choosing for garments, you will begin to understand the factors that go into good choices … and inspired ones, too. Joe’s first-hand fashion-world perspective will bring you new ways to think about your decisions, help eliminate uncertainty and allow you to make confident choices you’ll love to wear. Take home a wonderful collection of fabric swatch cards, each generous swatch backed up with essential fabric information and guidelines for use.
