Stitch up one of Katie’s famous nesting portfolios and an accompanying keychain wristlet in this wonderful workshop about weird materials and achieving a professional finish. For starters, the portfolio: engineered with pet screening (really!) and anchored by quilted fabric panels, it is the perfect pallet for machine embroidered applique accents, too. Use it to organize and transport your workshop or retreat projects from place to place, as the mesh allows you to see what’s in each one, and the 12 x 10 inch version you’ll make in class is just about the perfect size. Learn a simple zipper insertion you’ll use over and over again for that professional look, and personalize with your own fabric choice for the accents. You’ll quickly fall in love with Katie’s step-by-step construction techniques, machine know-how and collection of little tips with big impact. Make your accompanying keychain wristlet to clip on or carry alongside. Either way, this workshop allows you to work confidently with very “odd” (but fun and incredibly practical) materials both in and outside the hoop. Bring your own fabric, see supply list for details.
