Lace shaping is EASY and FUN! Using French lace and batiste you will actually shape a diamond (miters), a heart (curving and miters) and a bow (flip-flopping technique). Amazingly, these three techniques are the ONLY techniques used in lace shaping! So …. after this class you will know how to perform the magic – the same magic which has been used for centuries to embellish clothing with beautiful French laces. You might want to keep the secret of how easy it is, as you add lace shaping details to garments, home décor and gift items from now on. Leave class with three lace shapes, ready to stitch into projects at home. You’ll enjoy Martha’s comprehensive directions for stitching, alongside a trunk show of projects showing all three shapes used in a variety of settings.

As a special celebration for Martha’s return to Arlington this year (during her birthday week, no less!) she will give one piece of her collection of antique clothing (an adult petticoat, circa 1890) as a door prize for one person in this class. You must be present to win and you must be a student in this class.
