Start with the basics in this beginner-beginner workshop, perfect for a first-time or prospective longarm owner. Build confidence as you learn to speak “longarm”, using and understanding the terms common to the longarm community. Learn about basic machine features and experience how to properly load a quilt on a longarm. You’ll explore threads, needles, tension settings and bobbins, too, as you discover how to make appropriate choices for each and every project. Get the hang of starting and stopping, pick up stitching tips and general guidelines, and, before you leave, you’ll be stitching away, practicing some of Denise’s favorite simple quilt motifs. Much discussion and practice, with time for Q&A. Two students will share a machine, so sign-up with a friend or make a new one in class when you join the fun! You'll be surprised at how much you'll learn between turns at the machine.
